Application post 2

I will apply where i think our society hones in on sophistic ideals, and try to counter what we could do differently while listening to Plato’s viewpoint.

Our generation and those to follow are getting more and more out of social media. It is almost stating the obvious to even type that sentence out. We are witnessing a shift unlike anything weve seen before, with human interaction being replaced with a screen. Sophistically, it is good. We are able to receive packages in 48 hours, you can call anyone in the entire world at the touvh of a button, and you can have a super compter in your pocket. We have made the ultimate tool, and man has to choose if we are going to let the tool control us. The whole AI taking over debate is happening in real time, and we are slowly using the battle. Sure it is more effecient to use your phone for everything. Is it a good thing though? When you look at the short term gain then yes it is a great thing that everyone should be rushing to take advantage of. The thought of raising my children on an ipad is horiffying though. Plato pushes us to look at the long term effects. What are we giving up when we take on this technology? The entire world is the answer, nature, human interaction and real social groups exist, but they exist outside of your phone screen.
